Privacy Policy — BetterMe: Kids
Last updated: July 9, 2026
1. Introduction
BetterMe: Kids (“the App”) is an educational mobile application that helps children approximately 8 to 10 years old practice decision-making through interactive scenarios.
This Privacy Policy explains what information is used, how it is stored, and what rights parents or guardians have. By using the App, you (as a parent or guardian) accept the practices described in this document.

2. Target audience and parents’ role
The App is designed for children, but setup and the parent area should be used or supervised by a responsible adult.
We do not intentionally collect children’s contact information (such as email addresses or phone numbers). The App does not require creating an account on external servers.
3. Information stored on the device
Most information is stored only on the user’s device and is not sent to our servers, because the App does not operate with its own backend.
This may include:
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Child’s name | Personalize the experience (greetings, certificates). |
| Gender and language | Adapt in-app text. |
| Avatar | Optional profile image (default or photo from the gallery). |
| Game progress | Completed worlds, answers, certificates, daily goals. |
| Optional reflections | Free text the child may write after some scenarios; visible in the parent area. |
| Parent preferences | Hidden scenarios, parent area password (stored securely on the device). |
This data is saved using local storage on the device (MMKV and the system’s secure storage).
4. Information shared with third parties
4.1 Google AdMob (advertising)
The App may show rewarded ads only when the user voluntarily chooses to watch them (for example, to unlock content or a special certificate).
- The provider is Google AdMob.
- The App is configured as child-directed, with ads that comply with Google’s policies for families and children (COPPA).
- Non-personalized ads are requested when applicable.
- AdMob may collect device identifiers and technical data to display and measure ads, in accordance with Google’s Privacy Policy.
We do not sell or rent users’ personal data.
4.2 Sharing content outside the App
The App allows sharing images (for example, certificates or challenges) through the system share menu (WhatsApp, email, etc.). This action is optional and controlled by the user; we do not access their contacts or shared content.
5. Device permissions
The App may request:
| Permission | Reason |
|---|---|
| Photos / gallery | Choose a profile avatar image (optional). |
| Notifications | Optional local daily study reminder (can be disabled in device settings). |
We do not request access to the microphone, location, or contacts.
6. Notifications
The App may schedule a local reminder (for example, at 5:00 PM) to encourage the child to complete their daily goal.
We do not send remote push notifications from our own servers. Users can turn off notifications at any time in their device settings.
7. Security
- App data remains on the device.
- The parent area password is stored as a hash in the system’s secure storage (SecureStore / Keychain).
- Communications with third-party services (AdMob) use encrypted connections (HTTPS).
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect information.
8. Data deletion
Because we do not store data on our own servers, you control deletion:
- Uninstall the App from the device, or
- Clear the App’s data in Settings → Apps → BetterMe: Kids → Storage → Clear data.
This removes the profile, progress, preferences, and all other local information.
If you have questions or need help, contact us at: junior.uc.9192@gmail.com
9. Children’s privacy (COPPA and applicable regulations)
We comply with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and with Google Play policies for apps directed at children.
- We do not require registration with the child’s contact details.
- We do not offer in-app chat or interaction between users.
- Parents can review progress and reflections in the parent area.
- Ads are opt-in (voluntary) and come from Google Play–certified ad networks.
If you believe a child has provided information inappropriately, contact us and we will help you remove it from the device following the steps in Section 8.
10. User rights (GDPR / users in the EEA)
If you are in the European Economic Area, you may have the right to access, rectify, or delete personal data. Since data is stored locally on your device, you can exercise these rights by clearing the App’s data or contacting us at junior.uc.9192@gmail.com.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date. We recommend reviewing it periodically.
